Sewer Project Information
Cambria County Community Development Block Grant Program, January 2023 - Grant Funds have been made available for Sewer Lateral Replacement and Compliance. Cambria County has received funds through their Community Development Block Grant Program to provide funding for low-income residents to replace the sewer lateral lines on private property at owner-occupied, single-family, primary residence. In order to qualify for the Grant, you must first meet the income eligibility guidelines. Should you meet the criteria, please complete the application, and return it to the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority office. A link to the application is below. This is a fully funded grant program that could pay 100% of your sewer lateral replacement costs.
Selling or Transferring your property
When selling your property a sewer lateral inspection is required (see Ordinance #657). In conjunction with your contractor and the inspector, an Application for Lateral Inspection will need to be completed and the inspection fee paid. A trap waiver form may also be required; your contractor can advise you if this is necessary. The homeowner (or legal representative) will need to sign the form before it can be processed.
You may select a contractor of your choosing to perform the work. Below is a list to assist you, but your contractor does not need to be on this list, as long as they meet the requirements set forth in Ordinance #657..
