Info for 2024

We will continue with our billing process as it was in 2023: 
- We are pleased to offer the ability to pay bills online with a credit card or E-check. See below for details.
- In order to help reduce mailing and administrative costs:
- We continue to encourage payment in full for the entire year (prior to 2/29).
- Invoices will be on postcards with a tear-off stub for remittances.
- Our trash hauler will be Pro Disposal.  The annual garbage fee has been raised by $2 due to the increased cost of securing service for the Township.
- Payments made after the due date on the bill will continue to be subject to a $14 late fee.

ONLINE PAYMENTS NOW AVAILABLE!

Stonycreek Township is pleased to offer our residents the ability to make online payments on their garbage, sanitary sewer, and storm water maintenance bills. Payments can be made via credit card or from your bank account (“e-check”). A convenience fee will be added to each online payment. If you pay by credit card, the fee will be 2.70% of the payment or a minimum of $2.00 ; if you pay by e-check the fee will be $1.50.  Please allow up to five business days for the transaction to post to your account.

Be sure to enter your four-digit account # and service address in the Comments field to ensure that your payment is applied to the proper account.

You will also be able to review your online transactions made within the past five years. Click the following link: https://certifiedpayments.net/index.aspx and, under Review Payment History, click the 'Search Now' button. When searching for an e-check, note that the “Full Account Number” is your bank account number.

Please note that credit card payments can only be made through the online portal. We regret that we are unable to accept credit cards over the phone or in person at the municipal building.

Payments can always be mailed to our office at Stonycreek Township – Cambria County  1610 Bedford St. Johnstown, PA  15902.  You may also utilize the drop boxes outside the Municipal Office entrances.  If you wish to receive a receipt, enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. DO NOT PLACE CASH IN THE MAIL OR IN DROP OFF BOXES! 

Bills

The 2024 Garbage, Sewer, and Stormwater bills will be payable at the Township Office beginning in January.  This bill is PAYABLE AT THE TOWNSHIP OFFICE . The final installment, along with all overdue payments, is due in our office by October 31, 2024. Full payment for 2024 not received by that date will be assessed a penalty and may include other legal action such as a lien being placed on the property and/or water service termination.

Bill breakdown (applicable for appropriate accounts):
    $197 for yearly garbage
    $320 for yearly sanitary sewer fee
   $105 for yearly storm water maintenance fee   

You may pay your bill in full for 2024 by February 29, 2024 or in five (5) bi-monthly installments. Initial billing is on January 1st (first installment due February 29th). Subsequent billings, if not paid in full after the initial billing, are at the beginning of

  • March (due date April 30th)

  • May (due date June 30th)

  • July (due August 31st), and

  • September (due October 31st)

A late fee will be imposed if payment is not received by the due date of each installment.

Garbage Collection

Our trash hauler for 2024 will remain Pro Disposal. They state that all containers should be out the night before collection. Residents are permitted 3 garbage cans (equivalent of 6 kitchen-size bags) of trash per week. You may include yard waste (grass clippings, hedge clippings, and bundled or bagged twigs & sticks, but NO LEAVES) in with your weekly garbage pickup. Sticks or branches, if bundled, must be in four foot lengths or smaller. DO NOT OVERFILL YOUR BAGS. If a trash bag breaks when being lifted by the trash hauler, they will not be responsible for picking up the spilled contents. If you have large items or trash in excess of the allotted 3 cans to dispose of, you must contact Pro Disposal at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup to notify them of the large item and remit payment. Leaves are collected separately in the fall, typically until it begins to snow. Leaves should be placed in a separate location at the curb from where you normally leave your trash.

Holidays: If one of the following holidays falls on a weekday, then your trash pickup day will be delayed by one (1) day. Regular Thursday pickups will be on Friday; regular Friday pickups will be on Saturday.

Recycling Information

Stonycreek Township does not require nor provide curbside recycling. If you wish to recycle plastics (#1 & #2), corrugated cardboard, aluminum & bi-metal cans, magazines, catalogs or newspapers, the closest recycling center is near the roundabout in Geistown at 631 Lamberd Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15904 - Located behind the Geistown Fire Hall parking lot one block off of Scalp Ave. on Lamberd Ave.

Appliance & Tire Recycling

Appliance & Tire (“white goods”) recycling will take place at the Stonycreek Township municipal building on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 8am - 1pm. See the Calendar tab for more details. You may also visit “Keep Cambria County Beautiful” for information.

Electronics Recycling

Stonycreek Township is unable to offer electronics recycling any longer. Please visit the Cambria County Solid Waste web site or call 814-472-2109 for information about electronics recycling, including TVs.

The Cambria County Conservation District has been hosting free Tech Equipment Recycling Events for the general public in May of each year. Watch this page for details as a scheduled date approaches, or call 814-472-2120 Monday-Friday from 8am - 4pm for more information.

The Windber Public Library is hosting an electronics recycling event on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10am - 2pm. They are accepting Televisions, Laptops, Monitors, Computers, Printers. “A donation of recycled electronics helps keep your house organized and free of clutter and a monetary donation of any size to the library helps keep us on track for unforeseen repairs and providing valuable services to the community! Household Chemicals Disposal

The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is holding their annual Household Chemical Collection Event on June 8, 2024 from 9am - 1pm at Concurrent Technologies Corporation in Richland Township.
